1) Membership Update :: We are proud to say that we’ve reached 660 members on our  mailing list, alhamdulillah! We’re taking advantage of various community events to present AlMaghrib to various locations. Within the next couple weeks, we’re shooting for 800 members total. Help support this goal by spreading the word and directing people to this sign-up link: http://tinyurl.com/am-twincities-signup

2) Promo Event Dates submitted to AlMaghib HQ :: We have submitted the following candidate dates  for our first AlMaghrib promo event here in the TwinCities:

Weekend of July 31st and Aug 1st
Weekend of August 7th and 8th

We will wait to hear back from AlMaghrib HQ to see what they come back with in terms of speakers availability and schedule confirmation. We will keep everyone posted on anything we hear back, insha’allah.

3) AlMaghrib-TC Booths and Presentations :: Booth @ Abu Bakr Convention (June 18-20th)– Alhamdulillah, our booth was constantly buzzing with people, and we had about 300 new people sign up!  We also were given 20 minutes of stage time to present AlMaghrb-Twin Cities Effort to the larger crowd.  The response we received from the crowd was amazing, Alhamdulillah!  Jazakum Allahu Khayr for all the volunteers who helped out at this event.  To view pictures from this event, visit https://almaghribtc.wordpress.com/gallery/abu-bakr-convention/

Building Blocks Muslimas “AlMaghrib-izing” Event (June 23rd)– Building Blocks Muslimas had a mini-promotional event for AlMaghrib Institute.  With about 20 sisters in attendance, the group watched several very informative lectures by prominent AlMaghrib Instructors and derived lessons and benefits from these lectures.  For more info, visit http://bb4muslimas.wordpress.com/2010/06/23/the-aftermath-reflections/

4) Upcoming Outreach Efforts :: AM-TC Booth and Presentation @ Rochester 4th Annual Islamic Conference (July 2-4th)– VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!  If you plan on attending this conference and would like to volunteer, contact us at <almaghrib.minnesota@gmail.com>

In addition to the above mentioned efforts, members of the AlMaghrib-TwinCities Executive committee are working closely with various masajid and community organizations to spread the word about the AlMaghrib-TwinCities effort.

5) Next Info Session/Planning Meeting/Al Maghrib Education Session :: July 3rd, 8 AM @ Masjid Al Huda

We will discuss progress of our outreach efforts, assign new tasks for up-coming events, and insha’Allah decide on details for our AlMaghrib Promotional Event.  This meeting is open to EVERYONE; attending this meeting is a great way to learn more and get further involved in the AlMaghrib-TwinCities effort.

6) AlMaghrib Institute Weekly Dose :: In an effort to stay true to AlMaghrib Institute’s purpose of speading the knowledge of Islam, here is this week’s Dose of AlMaghrib Lectures— Enjoy and Benefit!
