Guess Who’s Coming to Town?

That would be Sheikh Yasir Qadhi!  Students of Qabeelat Madinatayn, rejoice!  You are presented with the opportunity to spend two whole weekends with Sheikh Yasir Qadhi.  But who is Sheikh Yasir Qadhi, anyways…?
Yasir Qadhi was born in Houston, Texas and completed his primary and secondary education in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He graduated with a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston, after which he was accepted as a student at the Islamic University of Madinah. After completing a diploma in Arabic, he graduated with a B.A. from the College of Hadith and Islamic Sciences. Thereafter, he completed a M.A. in Islamic Theology from the College of Dawah.  Yasir Qadhi is currently pursuing his PhD in Islamic Studies (Theology of Religion) from Yale University in New Haven, CT.  He appears on a number of Islamic satellite channels (Islam Channel in England, Al-Huda Channel in Saudi Arabia and Al-Fajr Channels in Egypt), where he teaches theology, Seerah, Tajweed, and other topics.

His published works include Riya’a: The Hidden Shirk, Du’aa: The Weapon of the Believer, and An Introduction to the Sciences of the Qur’an.

At AlMaghrib Institute, Sheikh Yasir Qadhi teaches the Aqeeda courses–Light of Guidance: Fundamentals of Faith 101,  Light Upon Light: Fundamentals of Faith 102,  and Darkness to Light: Doctrines of Faith IV–which dwell primarily on the theological foundations and doctrines of Islam.  He also teaches Precious Provisions: Fiqh of Food and Clothing.

Sheikh Yasir Qadhi is no stranger to the convention circuits of North America and the UK; perhaps you’ve been blessed with the opportunity to attend one of these events and listen to his lectures, or perhaps you’ve stumbled across his lectures online.   Yet make no mistake, a 2 hour lecture is no where close to what you will experience during Light of Guidance this February.  Two whole weekends with Sheikh Yasir Qadhi…that’s an opportunity that you CAN’T afford to miss!
