Donate! So That You May Attain Piety…

Each year in Ramadan, we are reminded of the verse in surat al-Baqara, when Allah says: “O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that you may learn piety/righteousness.”

{يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ}

It is as though Allah sends a breeze of spiritual encouragement to sweep into the hearts of the Muslims, for by His mercy, we find ourselves quick to respond to His call. Opportunity after opportunity, we generously lend ourselves to fasting, qiyam ul-layl (night prayer) and heart purification–{لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ}–so that we may learn piety. Yet the GREATEST means of attaining piety is charity; and Allah says in surat ali-‘Imran: “By no means shall you attain piety unless you give (freely) of that which you love; and whatever you give, surely Allah knows it well.”

{لَن تَنَالُوا الْبِرَّ حَتَّىٰ تُنفِقُوا مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ ۚ وَمَا تُنفِقُوا مِن شَيْءٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بِهِ عَلِيمٌ}

With the last ten days of Ramadan before us, a charitable opportunity awaits. Beloved brothers and sisters, Qabeelat Madinatayn, the Minnesota chapter of AlMaghrib Institute, is calling for donations! Your generous givings will assist young Muslims in seeking Islamic education. Donations all go back to the student body in various forms, such as financial aid, scholarships, marketing and outreach to new areas, events with the instructors, community workshops, free online study sessions, study material, halaqas in masajid across the state, and much more…  DONATE by clicking HERE.

Remember the hadith of our beloved Messenger (saw) that “When a human being dies, all of his deeds are terminated except for three types: an ongoing sadaqah (charity), a knowledge (of Islam) from which others benefit, and a righteous child who makes du’aa for him.” (Muslim)

After the recipients of scholarships take our AlMaghrib seminars, for EVERY reward from EVERY grain of knowledge learned, implemented and passed on, donators receive a copy of this reward on their scale of good deeds; it is an investment with Allah, and donors will continue to reap the benefits of their charitable actions even after they pass away.

One scholarship recipient wrote: “My goal is to take all the classes Qabeelat Madinatayn offers, because someday when my kids ask me islamic questions, I want to be able to answer it instead of searching it up insha’Allah! And also, that hadith of the Prophet (saw) that talks about the seven types of people that Allah will shade on the Day of Judgment motivates me to take more classes because one of them is “a youth who grew up in the worship of Allah.” Taking these classes motivates me to do more ‘ibadaat (acts of worship) and gives me an iman-boost.”

Another wrote: “I love the ‘ilm rush (that AlMaghrib seminars offer), and being with people who love Allah is what I want.”

One student likened her experience to the gatherings of the Prophet’s companions: “Not only is the information beneficial,” she said, “I love the community and positivity in AlMaghrib seminars. You feel like everyone is connected—like a family, kind of how the companions and early believers were like. Everyone there is as excited as you are :) It’s beautiful, masha’Allah.”

Invest generously with Allah by DONATING to Qabeelat Madinatayn! And may Allah write you as amongst the greatest of His pious servants… Ameen and Jazakum Allahu Khayr.
